Wonton Filling

Method

Prepare Wonton Filling

1

Mix the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt. Mix everything together until well combined.

2

Fill Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper over to create a triangle, and press to seal. Fold the two corners of the triangle together to form a wonton shape. Repeat until all filling is used.

Prepare Soup Base

3

Heat the Broth

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

4

Season the Broth

Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt to the simmering broth. Stir to combine and adjust seasoning to taste.

Cook Wontons

5

Boil Wontons

Carefully add the prepared wontons to the simmering broth. Cook for about 5-6 minutes, or until the wontons float to the surface and are cooked through.

Serve Soup

6

Garnish and Serve

Ladle the soup into bowls, ensuring each bowl has wontons. Garnish with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro. Serve hot.
