Tea Base

Sweetened Condensed Milk Mixture

Method

Prepare the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep the Tea Leaves

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 tablespoons of Thai black tea leaves. Allow the leaves to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

  3. 3

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea into a large pitcher to remove the tea leaves. Set aside to cool.

Prepare the Sweetened Milk Mixture

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup of evaporated milk, and 2 tablespoons of sugar until well combined.

Assemble the Drink

  1. 5

    Fill Glasses with Ice

In tall glasses, add 1 cup of ice cubes to each glass.

  2. 6

    Pour the Tea

Pour the cooled Thai tea over the ice-filled glasses until they are about three-quarters full.

  3. 7

    Add Sweetened Milk Mixture

Top each glass with the sweetened milk mixture, adjusting the quantity to your preference.

  4. 8

    Garnish (Optional)

If desired, sprinkle a pinch of ground spices like star anise or cardamom on top for added flavor.

Serve

  1. 9

    Mix and Enjoy

Use a spoon to stir the drink before enjoying, and serve immediately while it's cold.
