Method

Fried Rice Directions

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients for the fried rice. Ensure that the cooked rice is cold, as this helps prevent it from becoming mushy.

2

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

3

Sauté Garlic and Vegetables

Add the minced garlic to the hot oil and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the diced carrot and green peas. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the carrot is tender.

4

Add Cooked Rice

Add the cold cooked rice to the skillet and break apart any clumps. Stir well to combine with the vegetables.

5

Add Seasonings

Pour the soy sauce over the rice and mix thoroughly. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Stir for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

6

Add Eggs and Green Onions

Push the rice to one side of the pan. Pour the beaten eggs onto the other side and scramble them until fully cooked. Mix the scrambled eggs into the rice. Finally, stir in the chopped green onions.

7

Serve

Remove from heat and serve the fried rice hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.

Steamed Rice Directions

8

Rinse the Rice

Rinse the uncooked white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

9

Combine Rice and Water

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt.

10

Bring to a Boil

Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

11

Simmer the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.

12

Fluff and Serve

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
