Method
Donut Bites Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- 2
Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted unsalted butter until smooth.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini donut pan with non-stick spray.
- 5
Fill the Donut Pan
Spoon or pipe the batter into the mini donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- 6
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- 7
Dust with Icing Sugar
Remove the donuts from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Once slightly cooled, dust with icing sugar.
Chocolate Sauce Preparation
- 8
Heat Cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to steam, but do not let it boil.
- 9
Melt Chocolate
Remove the pan from the heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
- 10
Add Vanilla
Stir in the vanilla extract to the melted chocolate sauce.
- 11
Serve
Serve the mini-donut bites warm with the chocolate sauce for dipping.
