Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 375°F (190°C).
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 6
Prepare the Buns
While the chicken is resting, toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
- 7
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a lettuce leaf on each bun, followed by a slice of tomato, the grilled chicken breast, a slice of cheddar cheese, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
