Method
Fried Oysters Directions
- 1
Prepare the Oysters
Rinse the fresh Gulf oysters under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Make the Breading
In a mixing bowl, combine the corn flour, all-purpose flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Bread the Oysters
Dredge each oyster in the breading mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Oysters
Carefully add the breaded oysters to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried oysters from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
