Crab Cakes

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Crab Cake Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the lump crabmeat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, green onions, red bell pepper, celery, old bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the crabmeat.

  2. 2

    Add Binders

Fold in the bread crumbs and beaten egg to the mixture until well combined. If the mixture is too wet, add more bread crumbs, a tablespoon at a time, until it holds together.

  3. 3

    Form the Crab Cakes

Shape the mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Chill the Crab Cakes

Refrigerate the patties for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.

  5. 5

    Grill the Crab Cakes

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with olive oil. Place the crab cakes on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Garnish the crab cakes with grated Parmesan cheese and serve with lemon aioli on the side.
