Prepare Coconut Rice

Rinse Rice
Rinse 1.5 cups of jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

Cook Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine rinsed rice, 1 cup coconut milk, 0.5 cup water, and 0.5 tsp salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Simmer Rice
Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes or until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.

Fluff Rice
Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes. Then, fluff rice with a fork.
Cook Protein

Brown Ground Pork
In a skillet over medium heat, add 500 grams of ground pork. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Season Pork
Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Prepare Fresh Vegetables

Chop Tomato
Dice the large tomato into small pieces.

Slice Cucumber
Slice the medium cucumber into thin rounds or half-moons.
Make Tamarind Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine 3 tbs tamarind paste, 2 tbs sugar, 2 tbs soy sauce, and 1 cup water.

Simmer Sauce
Heat over medium heat until the mixture thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
