Prepare the Cake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Make the Whipped Topping
In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

Frost the Cake
Spread the whipped topping over the cake. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
