Marinade and Main Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, mix together lime juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Place the top sirloin steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat. If using a grill pan, heat it on medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place the steak on the hot grill and cook for about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F for medium-rare).

  4. 4

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your choice of rice and beans or fried sweet plantains (maduros).
