Churro Dough

Method

Churro Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until fully combined.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Let the mixture cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C) for frying.

  4. 4

    Fry Churros

Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Fill with Cajeta

Using a piping bag, fill each churro with cajeta through a small hole in one end.
