Preparation Instructions
- 1
Toast the Walnuts
In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the walnuts until they are fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
- 2
Blend Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the toasted walnuts, roasted red peppers, garlic cloves, breadcrumbs, pomegranate molasses, olive oil, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Process until Smooth
Blend the mixture until it is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more olive oil to reach your desired consistency.
- 4
Taste and Adjust
Taste the Muhammara and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or pomegranate molasses if needed.
- 5
Serve
Transfer the Muhammara to a serving bowl and drizzle with a bit of olive oil. Serve with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
