Falafel Preparation
- 1
Blend the Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the canned chickpeas (drained), parsley, cilantro, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until the mixture is coarse but holds together when pressed.
- 2
Form the Falafel
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add flour. Mix well and form into small balls or patties.
- 3
Fry the Falafel
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry the falafel in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.
Assemble the Wrap
- 4
Prepare the Wrap
Slice the tomato and finely dice the red onion. Take a piece of pita bread and spread a generous amount of Toum and Tarator on it.
- 5
Add the Falafel
Place 2-3 falafel balls on the pita, followed by sliced tomatoes and diced red onions.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Add additional parsley if desired, wrap the pita tightly, and serve immediately.
