Brewing Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mash

In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 2 cups of barley malt. Stir well and let it steep for about 30 minutes, maintaining a temperature of around 150°F (65°C).

  2. 2

    Boil the Wort

After steeping, strain the barley from the liquid (now called wort) into a clean pot. Bring the wort to a boil again and add 1 oz of hops. Boil for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Fermentation

Once the boiling is complete, cool the wort to room temperature. Transfer it into a fermentation vessel and add 1 tsp of yeast and 1 cup of corn sugar. Stir gently to combine, then cover the vessel with an airlock.

  4. 4

    Conditioning

Allow the mixture to ferment in a cool, dark place for about 1-2 weeks, or until fermentation bubbles cease. During this time, you may add optional flavoring to taste.

  5. 5

    Bottling

Once fermentation is complete, carefully siphon the brew into sanitized bottles, leaving some space at the top. Cap the bottles and let them sit at room temperature for another week to carbonate.

  6. 6

    Enjoy Your Brew

After carbonation, chill the bottles in the refrigerator. Serve cold and enjoy your homemade Lagunitas N.A!
