Blonde Ingredients

Method

Blonde Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar. Pour in the melted butter and mix until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the unbleached all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Add Nuts and Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  7. 7

    Bake the Blondies

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Remove the blondies from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
