Method

Ice Cream Base Preparation

1

Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until the sugar has dissolved completely.

2

Add Vanilla or Chocolate

If you are making vanilla ice cream, add the vanilla extract to the mixture and whisk thoroughly. For chocolate ice cream, add the chocolate syrup and mix until well combined.

3

Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until it is completely cold.

Churning the Ice Cream

4

Prepare Ice Cream Maker

If you are using an ice cream maker, make sure it is pre-chilled according to the manufacturer's instructions.

5

Churn the Mixture

Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

6

Transfer to Freezer

Once churned, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours to harden further.

Serving

7

Scoop and Serve

Remove the ice cream from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften. Scoop into bowls and add your choice of toppings like chocolate chips, sprinkles, or whipped cream.
