Method
Preparing the Ice Cream
Scoop the Ice Cream
Scoop the chocolate or vanilla ice cream into 4 equal-sized balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 1 hour to firm up.
Making the Cinnamon Crumb Coating
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, stirring until a batter forms.
Preparing the Tortilla Bowls
Shape the Tortillas
Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. While the oil is heating, press each flour tortilla into the shape of a bowl using a heat-safe bowl or a frying basket.
Fry the Tortillas
Carefully place the shaped tortillas into the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Frying the Ice Cream
Coat the Ice Cream
Once the ice cream balls are firm, dip each ball into the cinnamon batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
Deep-Fry the Ice Cream
Carefully place the coated ice cream balls into the hot oil and fry for about 30 seconds until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
