Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients including flour tortillas and shredded cheddar cheese.
Frying Tortillas
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, pour 1 cup of vegetable oil and heat it over medium-high heat until hot.
- 3
Fry the Tortillas
Carefully place one flour tortilla into the hot oil. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- 4
Remove and Drain
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried tortilla from the oil and place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Repeat with the second tortilla.
Adding Cheese

Add Cheddar Cheese
While the tortilla is still hot, sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the tortilla.
- 6
Melt the Cheese
Return the tortilla to the skillet on low heat, or place it under a broiler for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
- 7
Serve the Cheese Crispy
Once the cheese is melted, remove from heat, cut into wedges, and serve hot. Optionally, you can top with salsa or guacamole.
