Cheese Curds

Ranch Dipping Sauce

Method

Preparing Cheese Curds

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one for flour mixed with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, one for a beaten egg mixed with milk, and the last for breadcrumbs.

  2. 2

    Bread the Cheese Curds

Take each cheese curd, coat it in the flour mixture, then dip it into the egg-milk mixture, and finally roll it in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Cheese Curds

Carefully add the breaded cheese curds to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  5. 5

    Drain and Cool

Remove the fried cheese curds from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Keep warm while you fry the remaining curds.

Making Ranch Dipping Sauce

  1. 6

    Mix Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Whisk Until Smooth

Using a whisk, mix the ingredients together until smooth and well combined.

  3. 8

    Chill the Sauce

Cover the ranch dipping sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
