Method
Preparing the Patties
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands or a spoon until the seasoning is evenly distributed.
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into 20 equal portions, each weighing 1/2 lb. Shape each portion into a patty, making them slightly larger than the burger buns to account for shrinkage while cooking.
Cooking the Patties
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat.
Cook the Patties
Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip them and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium doneness. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of your chosen cheese on each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
Preparing the Toppings
Wash and Prepare Vegetables
Rinse the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Slice the tomatoes and onions into thin rings. Open the jar of pickles.
Arrange the Toppings
Place the lettuce, tomato slices, onion rings, and pickles on a serving tray for easy access when assembling the burgers.
