Ice Cream Preparation

Mix the Cream and Milk
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of heavy cream and 1 cup of whole milk. Whisk together until well blended.

Add Sugar and Salt
Add 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar and a pinch of salt to the cream mixture. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Flavor the Base
For vanilla ice cream, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture. For chocolate ice cream, add 0.5 cup of cocoa powder instead of vanilla extract. Stir well to incorporate.

Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the ice cream base for at least 2 hours, or until it's thoroughly chilled.

Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Freeze the Ice Cream
Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Once the ice cream is firm, scoop it into bowls or cones.
