Burger Patties

Grilled Onions

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into burger patties, ensuring they are slightly larger than the burger buns as they will shrink while cooking.

Grilling the Onions

  1. 3

    Slice the Onion

Peel and slice the onion into thin rings.

  2. 4

    Heat Oil and Grill

In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and allow it to heat. Add the sliced onions and cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. 5

    Heat the Grill

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 6

    Grill the Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach the desired internal temperature.

  3. 7

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 8

    Toast the Buns

While the burgers are finishing, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill until golden brown.

  2. 9

    Add BBQ Sauce

Spread BBQ sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun.

  3. 10

    Add Burger and Toppings

Place the grilled burger patty with melted cheese on top of the BBQ sauce, followed by a generous serving of grilled onions. Top with the other half of the bun.
