In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.

Mix in the vanilla extract and the egg until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the cookie dough.

Grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or an oven-safe baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared skillet.
