Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Pat the beef brisket dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika on all sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Brisket

In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the brisket and sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the brisket and set aside.

  3. 3

    Deglaze the Pan

Pour the beef broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. This will add flavor to the brisket.

  4. 4

    Roast the Brisket

Return the brisket to the skillet. Add the rosemary and thyme, then cover the skillet with a lid or foil. Place in the preheated oven and roast for approximately 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  5. 5

    Rest and Serve

Once done, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve with the pan juices.
