Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ham

Place the ham in a large roasting pan, flat side down. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep.

  3. 3

    Make the Glaze

In a medium bowl, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.

  4. 4

    Glaze the Ham

Brush the glaze generously over the scored surface of the ham, making sure to get it into the cuts.

  5. 5

    Add Water

Pour water into the bottom of the roasting pan to keep the ham moist during cooking.

  6. 6

    Bake the Ham

Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes per pound. Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize.

  7. 7

    Check for Doneness

The ham is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).

  8. 8

    Rest and Serve

Remove the ham from the oven, let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
