Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh cranberries, diced apples, chopped walnuts, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Mix thoroughly until the fruits are well coated and the sugars and spices are evenly distributed.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- 3
Prepare the Pie Crust
Roll out your pie crust and carefully place it into a deep pie dish. Make sure to leave some overhang for crimping later.
- 4
Fill the Pie
Pour the cranberry-apple-walnut filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- 5
Cover with Crust
Roll out a second pie crust and place it over the filling. Crimp the edges to seal and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
- 6
Bake
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
