Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk and egg together. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; it’s okay if the batter is slightly lumpy.
- 2
Heat the Pan
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a teaspoon of butter to the pan and let it melt, coating the surface.
- 3
Cook the Pancakes
Pour about 1/3 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- 4
Serve
Stack three pancakes on a plate, add a pat of butter on top, and drizzle with maple syrup before serving.
