Filling

Method

Preparation of the Filling

  1. 1

    Prepare the Blueberry Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine fresh blueberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and ground cinnamon. Toss gently to coat the blueberries and set aside to let the mixture macerate for about 15 minutes.

Preparation of the Topping

  1. 2

    Make the Cobbler Topping

In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Then stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined. Do not overmix.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 3

    Combine and Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the blueberry filling into a greased baking dish. Spoon the cobbler topping over the blueberries evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

  2. 4

    Serve

Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
