Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Topping Preparation
- 5
Prepare Vegetables
While the dough is rising, prepare the toppings. Dice the bell pepper, thinly slice the red onion, halve the cherry tomatoes, and slice the zucchini.
Pizza Assembly
- 6
Preheat Oven
Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 7
Roll Out Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness (about 12 inches in diameter).
- 8
Add Sauce and Cheese
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread your favorite pizza sauce (optional) over the dough, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
- 9
Add Toppings
Distribute the prepared vegetables evenly over the cheese. Drizzle a little olive oil over the toppings and sprinkle with dried oregano, salt, and pepper to taste.
- 10
Bake Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Serving
- 11
Slice and Serve
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice into wedges and serve hot.
