Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F/43°C) with sugar and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

  2. 6

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle or circle to your preferred thickness.

  3. 7

    Assemble Pizza

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a parchment paper. Spread mozzarella cheese evenly over the surface. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and black pepper on top.

  4. 8

    Bake Pizza

Carefully transfer the pizza (with parchment paper) onto the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Slice and serve hot.
