Method

Prepare the Tomato Mixture

  1. 1

    Dice the Tomatoes

Wash and dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces. Place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Garlic and Basil

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes. Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them as well.

  3. 3

Mix in Olive Oil and Vinegar

Pour the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the tomato mixture. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Gently stir to combine all ingredients.

  4. 4

    Let it Marinate

Let the tomato mixture sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Prepare the Bread

  1. 5

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  2. 6

    Slice the Bread

Cut the baguette or Italian bread into 1-inch thick slices.

  3. 7

    Grill the Bread

Place the bread slices on the grill and toast for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Assemble the Bruschetta

  1. 8

    Top the Grilled Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the grill and top each slice generously with the marinated tomato mixture.

  2. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately as an appetizer or snack, garnished with additional basil if desired.
