    Wash the fresh basil leaves thoroughly and pat them dry. Peel the garlic cloves.

    In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until finely chopped.

    With the food processor running, slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
