Preparation Steps

1

Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2

Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for about 1 minute until bubbly. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

3

Add the Cheeses

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the sharp cheddar cheese, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper until melted and smooth.

4

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated. Drizzle in the white truffle oil and mix well.

5

Prepare the Topping

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a small bowl, mix the bread crumbs with a tablespoon of melted butter, then sprinkle evenly over the macaroni and cheese.

6

Bake

Transfer the macaroni and cheese to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and crispy.

7

Serve

Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with additional truffle oil if desired.
