Cake Preparation

1

Melt the Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

2

Mix the Batter

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until pale and fluffy. Gradually fold in the melted chocolate mixture, followed by the vanilla extract. Sift the all-purpose flour into the mixture and gently fold until combined.

3

Prepare the Ramekins

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent sticking.

4

Fill the Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about three-quarters full.

5

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

6

Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let sit for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top.
