House-Smoked Turkey Leg

Bacon-Braised Green Beans

Method

House-Smoked Turkey Leg

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey Legs

In a bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the turkey legs. Let marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Turkey Legs

Preheat your smoker to 250°F (121°C). Fill the smoker with wood chips. Place the turkey legs in the smoker and smoke for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Potatoes au Gratin

  1. 3

    Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the potatoes thinly and set aside.

  2. 4

    Make the Gratin

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, pour the cream mixture over, and top with shredded cheese. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Bacon-Braised Green Beans

  1. 5

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.

  2. 6

    Braised Green Beans

In the same skillet, add trimmed green beans and minced garlic. Sauté for a few minutes, then add chicken broth. Cover and simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper, then stir in the cooked bacon before serving.
