Stuffing Balls

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Stuffing

In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, diced celery, diced onion, chicken broth, dried sage, dried thyme, and beaten eggs. Mix until well combined. Allow the mixture to sit for 10-15 minutes to absorb the liquid.

  2. 2

    Form the Balls

After the stuffing mixture has rested, form it into golf ball-sized balls (about 2 inches in diameter).

  3. 3

    Wrap with Bacon

Take a strip of bacon and wrap it around each stuffing ball, securing it with a toothpick if necessary. Make sure the bacon covers the stuffing ball completely.

  4. 4

    Bake the Stuffing Balls

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bacon-wrapped stuffing balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the stuffing is heated through.

  5. 5

    Make the Apple Cider Gravy

While the stuffing balls are baking, prepare the apple cider gravy by combining 1 cup of apple cider, 2 tablespoons of butter, and 2 tablespoons of flour in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk continuously until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the stuffing balls are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with the apple cider gravy drizzled over the top.
