Prepare the Breading
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.

Bread the Cheese Curds
Dip each cheese curd first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure they are fully covered.

Heat the Oil
In a deep pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Cheese Curds
Carefully add the breaded cheese curds to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serve warm with four pepper aioli for dipping.
