Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ricotta Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, orange zest, and cinnamon. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- 2
Prepare the Bread
Take the thick slices of bread and set them aside. If desired, you can lightly toast them to make them firmer for soaking.
Cooking
- 3
Soak the Bread
Dip each slice of bread into the ricotta mixture, making sure to coat each side thoroughly. Allow the bread to soak for about 30 seconds on each side.
- 4
Cook the French Toast
In a large skillet or griddle, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the soaked bread slices in batches and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining bread and add more butter as needed.

Plate and Garnish
Once cooked, place the French toast slices on serving plates. Top generously with wild berries and sliced almonds, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
