Chicken Fingers

Handcut Fries

Method

Chicken Fingers

  1. 1

    Prepare Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into thin strips, about 1 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place flour in the first, whisked eggs in the second, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in the third.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dip each chicken strip in flour, then in the egg, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each piece is well-coated.

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken

In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add breaded chicken strips in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Handcut Fries

  1. 5

    Prepare Potatoes

Peel and cut russet potatoes into thick strips, about 1/2 inch wide.

  2. 6

    Soak Potatoes

Place cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 7

    Heat Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Fries

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a towel. Fry in batches for about 5-6 minutes until crispy and golden brown. Remove and place on paper towels, then sprinkle with salt.
