Hash Brown Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the potatoes and grate them using a box grater or food processor. Rinse the grated potatoes under cold water to remove excess starch, then drain and dry thoroughly using a clean kitchen towel.
- 2
Chop the Onion
Finely chop the onion and set aside.
- 3
Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine grated potatoes, chopped onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the seasonings are evenly distributed.
- 4
Heat the Skillet
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the butter and let it melt.
- 5
Cook the Hash Browns
Spread the potato mixture evenly in the skillet and press it down firmly. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the bottom is crispy and golden brown. Flip the hash browns carefully and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes on the other side.
- 6
Serve
Once both sides are crispy and golden, remove from the skillet and transfer to a cutting board. Cut into wedges and serve hot.
