Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Asian Slaw
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, julienned carrot, sliced green onions, and chopped cilantro. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to combine. Set aside.
- 2
Make the Ginger Miso Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, grated ginger, soy sauce, honey, and water until smooth. Set aside.
- 3
Sear the Scallops
Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the scallops to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
- 4
Plate and Serve
On each plate, place a generous serving of the Asian slaw. Top with seared scallops and drizzle with the ginger miso sauce. Serve immediately.
