Method
Preparation
Prepare the Sausage Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork sausage with sage, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix well until all the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
Shape the Sausage Links
Once mixed, take a handful of the sausage mixture and roll it into a log shape, approximately 4-6 inches long and about 1 inch in diameter. Repeat this process until all the mixture is shaped into sausage links.
Cooking
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
Check for Doneness
Using a meat thermometer, check the internal temperature of the sausage links. They should reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (70°C) to ensure they are fully cooked.
Rest and Serve
Once cooked, remove the sausage links from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them hot with your favorite dipping sauces or as part of a hearty breakfast.
