Pizza Dough

Method

Preparing the Dough

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 6

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 7

    Add Pesto

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread the pesto sauce evenly over the base.

  4. 8

    Layer Toppings

Evenly distribute the shredded chicken, fresh spinach, halved grape tomatoes, and basil leaves over the pesto.

  5. 9

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the toppings.

Baking the Pizza

  1. 10

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  2. 11

    Cool and Slice

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing into pieces.
