Method
Baking Directions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This allows the cookies to bake evenly.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- 5
Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Fold in Chocolate Chips
Using a spatula or a wooden spoon, gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- 7
Scoop the Dough
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- 8
Bake the Cookies
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden, and the centers are just set.
- 9
Cool the Cookies
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
