Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and chopped rosemary.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix the heavy cream and beaten egg together. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  5. 5

    Shape the Scones

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times. Pat into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut into wedges or use a biscuit cutter for round scones.

  6. 6

    Bake

Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

  7. 7

    Serve with Whipped Butter

Let the scones cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with whipped butter.
