Prepare the Shellfish
Rinse the mussels and clams under cold water to remove any grit. Discard any open shells that do not close when tapped.

Add Wine and Seasonings
Pour in the white wine, and stir in the red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Cook the Shellfish
Add the cleaned mussels and clams to the pot. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the shells open. Discard any that do not open.

Finish and Serve
Remove from heat, and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. Serve hot with crusty bread for dipping.
