Lobster Bisque Ingredients

Method

Lobster Bisque Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lobster

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the lobster tails and cook for about 8-10 minutes until they turn bright red. Remove them from the pot, let them cool, and then extract the meat. Chop the lobster meat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Tomato Paste

Stir in the minced garlic and tomato paste. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Deglaze with Brandy

Carefully pour in the brandy, scraping the bottom of the pot to deglaze. Allow it to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until the alcohol has evaporated.

  5. 5

    Add Stock

Pour in the fish stock and bring the mixture to a boil. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes.

  6. 6

    Blend the Soup

Using an immersion blender, blend the soup until smooth. If you prefer a chunkier texture, blend only half of the soup and leave the rest as is.

  7. 7

    Incorporate Cream and Seasonings

Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Add the chopped lobster meat and heat through for another 5 minutes.

  8. 8

    Serve

Ladle the bisque into bowls and garnish with chopped chives. Enjoy your luxurious lobster bisque!
