Waffle Batter

Method

Waffle Batter Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Then, add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix; small lumps are fine.

Cooking the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions until it is hot and ready.

  2. 5

    Pour Batter

Spray the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour the appropriate amount of batter onto the center of the preheated waffle iron (usually about 1/2 to 2/3 cup, depending on your waffle iron size).

  3. 6

    Cook Waffles

Close the waffle iron and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crisp. Carefully remove the waffles and keep them warm while you repeat with the remaining batter.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Waffles

Stack the freshly made waffles on a plate.

  2. 8

    Add Toppings

Top with fresh berries, a drizzle of maple syrup, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a sprinkle of chopped nuts as desired.

  3. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the waffles immediately while warm with your choice of toppings.
