Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Make the Patty Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet, and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C) for medium doneness.

Preparing the Toppings

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and red onion into thin rounds.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Optional: Lightly toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked patty on each bun, then layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
