Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Remove the fries from the water and dry them thoroughly with a clean kitchen towel. Carefully add them to the hot oil in small batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes or until golden and crispy.

  5. 5

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and let them drain on paper towels. Immediately sprinkle with salt to taste.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 6

    Prepare the Steak

Take the sirloin steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 7

    Season the Steak

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and fresh rosemary on both sides.

  3. 8

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  4. 9

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
